Summer
Vacation is upon us, officially starting, by our calendar,
June 21, 2008. Many public school's in Florida, will be
on summer break by the 2nd week of June. The kids are ready
and the beaches are ready!
Florida
beaches are still hopping from Spring Break, with fair
weather and balmy breezes pushing temperatures
to the mid 80's most of the time now. Now
is the time for our travelers to get going on their vacation
plans.

The
water temperature is still a little cool for the locals,
but thats not stopping the northerners from taking a dip
or two. The last couple of months have provided some great
fishing as the waters start to warm up. Our latest fishing
reports are showing that it's time to see some action
in the redfish category along with some snook catches.

With
the summer season heating up, the
Visitors bureaus are hopeful that travelers will continue
doing their part for the econcomy. Florida
Attractions are advertising their latest deals and amusement
park packages are underway at many online travel sites.
Some are touting percentage discounts, while others
are offering lower room rates on certain days. Some are
even offering free stuff!

Hard
Times For Florida??

Well
only time will tell , with gas prices as they are, one
would think that the tourist industry would be doomed this
year. We offer you this perspective, that if there are less
tourists, there are less crowds at the usual amusement parks.
That sounds pretty good for those who prefer less interaction
with their fellow travelers.
Also,
if the major hotels feel that their quota of rooms aren't
filling up fast enough , there just might be some special
travel packages for the savvy and persistant travelers!!
Some
of the large travel agencies are predicting that people
may augment their travel plans instead of cancelling them
all together. They might have less excursions or maybe sightsee
more to save money during their stay. A visit to a
Florida park might be in order. Or maybe spend some
time at one of Florida's fabulous Shopping
Malls!
So far the sun is still shining on Florida. So, all in all,
this writer feels that it will be an interesting year for
travel and we are watching anxiously to see how the intelligent
traveler copes in todays financial market.

Note: Don't forget the President's stimulus checks
are arriving soon to a traveler''s mailbox everywhere!
