Downtown Disney is a dynamite place to shop, eat , take family pictures, relax, play games, go on a boat ride or maybe ride on a carousel!! Located in Orlando, Florida, near Lake Buena Vista , Downtown Disney , has alot to offer travelers inbetween their amusement park activities and their hotel happenings.
There are some upscale restaurants, to choose from as well as some fast food choices. The RainForest Cafe is one of the most well known places to eat . For those who don't know, The RainForest Cafe is designed in the style of a jungle rainforest as the name implies. You are literally surrounded by the sights and sounds of the jungle and its animals. The food is good and the wait is not too bad. Oh yeah, and there is a huge gift shop! There are lots of activities happening in the streets of Downtown Disney, including special vendors of different kinds of treats, as well as some stage shows right on the waterfront! You literally can spend hours sightseeing , shopping and dining. Also, don't forget that there is Fulton's Crab House, a floating Steamship restaurant and the HardRock Cafe at Downtown Disney. Families have been known to come back again and again to see or experience what they missed.

Downtown Disney is setup as if you were walking down a small town street with all the hustle and bustle of small shops and quaint scenery. There is a large lake in the middle where you can rent a couple of different kinds of water crafts for your enjoyment. And on the weekends there is an awesome fire works show!
As for the children, there are Ice cream shops, candy stores, records shops, The Gamestop, The Lego Store, a Carousel ride, Novelty shops, music stores , magic stores, Disney character stores, and clothing stores. I think you get the idea.
By the way , there is a Cirque Du Soleil show theater at Downtown Disney also! Not to mention Pleasure Island is just on the other side of the foot bridge!! So, we hope you and your family will visit this fantastic, unique place at DownTown Disney.
