ONE of the
premier stops in Tampa Bay has to be Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg,
Florida. It is the home of the Tampa Bay Devilrays baseball team.
(The Tampa Bay Rays for familiar fans.) The "Trop" as
it is affectionately called, is a self contained domed structure
of incredible design and size.
Because of
the dome's unigue design, baseball fans can watch their favorite
teams year round, in comfort and protection from the weather outside.
Florida has been known for having quick moving thunderstorms sometimes,
you see.
The field
itself is made up of artificial turf and rich brown dirt for the
baselines. The contrasting colors will amaze you the very first
time you see it! Your kids will have a fantastic childhood memory
to be cherished for a lifetime.
In an effort
to increase the fans enjoyment ,
Large video boards have been recently added to show
video shots of the game, the players, and yes, the fans. Players'
stats, scores and other important information are also put up
on these large screens for improved visibility. The largest video
board is touted as being about 35 ft. by 64 ft. in size!

Above,
we are showing you an outside view of the spiral walkway that
helps move the fans in and out of the dome in a quick and orderly
fashion.
